"The international artists who conduct these workshops will assist our youths and aspirant musicians to better understand their role in the industry. They will also grow the passion for music."

- Peter Tladi -

One of our focus areas in furthering our mission of developing the music industry in South Africa is to create opportunities for young and emerging artists to aquire knowledge, skills and experience in various aspects of music as an art form and a discipline.

To this end, we facilitate workshops throught the year, many of which coincide with the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival in Johannesburg in August.

Most of the workshops are offered to youg musicians for free and we utilise the experience and passion of South African and international musicians to facilitate these sessions.

The workshops will focus on intricate music issues, with topics like music theory and performance techniques; business in the music industry; voice styles and techniques; and orchestras and big bands; to mention a few.

The 2009 Workshops were well attended and students ended their sessions motivated and brimming with ideas
