This is an all male 5 piece band established and playing together since 2006

Band Members
• Sipho Jiyane is the 29yr old band leader, vocalist and bass guitarist, keyboard player and drumme
• Mduduzi Qwabe is a 32yr old trumpeter and flugal horn player
• Skhumbuzo Nkosi is a 28yr old drummer and paino player
• Thabo Baleni is a 25yr old keyboard and piano player
• Shadrack Mbonani is a 18 yr old multi instrumentali

J4 Dot is short for “Just for the Love of Music”, which is evident in their music which they describe as “just jazz”. Besides living in the same neighbourhood, it is their friendship that has them playing together and seen their band take off.

From playing in their own jazz sessions at the Ekurhuleni East College, they also played at churches and theatres. Soon enough word got around about this band and they have since played in Emperors Palace and other corporate functions.

J 4 Dot plans to raise their status and become a household band in and around the region of South Africa. Themba Mkhize, Mduduzi Mtshali, Vusi Khumalo are just some of their musical influences. And as a result they have played with the likes of Mahottella Queens, Avante, Musa Manzini, Malini, Tshepo Tsola, Jeff Maluleke and the list goes on. And these are people who have noticed the talent the band habours in their spirits. Their message to people is to be ready for them
